Pause, Reflect, Realign: You Mid-Year Financial Reset.

Can you believe we’re already halfway through 2025? If you’re anything like me, your ADHD brain has been on overdrive—chasing new projects, juggling family life, and somehow (somehow!) keeping the bills paid. But before the second half of the year speeds away, let’s take a few intentional minutes to ground ourselves, see what’s working, and chart a clear path forward.

Pause

First things first: stop. Literally.

Find a quiet spot, whether that’s your home office, kitchen counter, or even the car (parked, of course). Settle into a comfortable seat, or stand with your feet planted hip-width apart. Then:

  1. Close Your Eyes (or Soften Your Gaze). Let the world blur for a moment.

  2. Inhale for Four Counts. Feel your chest and belly expand as fresh energy fills you.

  3. Exhale for Six Counts. Release tension through your mouth, letting any mental noise drift away.

  4. Scan Your Body. From head to toe, notice any tight spots—jaw, shoulders, gut—and consciously soften them.

  5. Anchor with Intention. Silently repeat, “I am here. I am capable. I am ready.”

That’s it. You’ve hit your mental “pause” button. Notice the shift—a little more space, a touch more calm. That’s the foundation for real insight.

Reflect

With your mind a bit quieter, turn to these prompts. Jot your answers in a journal, a fresh note on your phone, or a sticky note stuck to your fridge:

  • Top Three Wins: What financial successes—big or small—make you proud? Maybe you finally automated a savings transfer. Maybe you paid off a lingering balance. Perhaps you resisted an impulse buy that typically would’ve derailed you.

  • Biggest Surprise: Was there an unexpected expense or habit shift that caught you off guard? How did you handle it, and what did you learn about planning (or what happens when you don’t)?

  • Recurring Patterns: Looking back over the last six months, when did you feel in complete control of your money? When did impulsive spending sneak in? What does that teach you about how your unique ADHD wiring operates?

  • Emotional Wins: Beyond dollars and cents, what mindset shifts stand out? Did you feel calmer when a bill hit? More confident asking for help? Give yourself credit for these intangible victories.

  • One Tweak for H2: Based on everything above, what’s a single, achievable change you can commit to now? A weekly “money pause,” a low-stakes savings sprint, or recruiting an accountability buddy—pick the one that’ll move the needle.

Realign: What’s Next?

Your reflections have given you a clear snapshot of where you’ve been and where you want to go. Now it’s time to translate those insights into an ADHD-friendly action plan.

I’d love to guide you through that process in my live MasterClass, “Pause, Reflect, Realign.” In a single 90-minute session, we’ll:
